Looking for a cozy, creative way to spend an afternoon? Join us at Royal Bee Yarn Shop for a one-day quick-knit experience, perfect for locals and visitors alike!
In this 2-session class, you'll cast on the bulky version of the Manhattan Hat by designer Tori Yu, a modern, stylish beanie that knits up fast with chunky yarn. With guidance from our instructor, most students will make significant progress (or even finish!) their hat before the class ends.
This is the perfect project for knitters who’ve taken an intro class or are comfortable with ribbed knit 1, purl 1 stitch and ready to learn knitting in the round.
What you’ll learn:
- How to knit in the round on circular needles
- Working 1x1 ribbing in the round
- Beanie shaping and finishing tips (if you don’t finish during class)
Materials and pattern not included but available for purchase with a student discount. Kits with ravelry patterns, yarn, and needles will be available at the shop to purchase with a 10% student discount.

Harry (she/her) is an avid knitter with over 8 years of experience. She is enjoys working with texturally complex patterns and colorwork projects. When she’s not knitting, you can find her hiking with her dog, playing tennis, or spending time on the bay.
