Cold Weather Donation Drive

Share warmth, comfort, and creativity

We’re collecting donations for two organizations doing incredible work with communities facing deep, ongoing need:

Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation – supporting schools, shelters, and social service organizations on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, home to the Oglala Sioux Tribe and an estimated 40,000 people living with widespread poverty. Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation

Your handmade items and donated goods will be consolidated at Royal Bee and shipped directly to these organizations.

What We Accept for Donations

To make it easy for our community to give meaningfully, here are the items Royal Bee will collect and send on your behalf:

Handmade Cold-Weather Items

Always welcome and always urgently needed:

Hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, cowls
Sweaters (kid & adult sizes)
Warm socks
Baby blankets, booties, caps
Cozy throw blankets or lap blankets
Dish cloths

Yarn & Craft Supplies

The folks who donate regularly often run short on craft materials, especially yarn.
We’re gratefully accepting:

Any weight or color of yarn (new or clean, unused skeins/balls) - Ideally stored in sealed plastic bags to prevent moth infestations

Unfinished Knitting or Crochet Projects (Yes, really!)

Our team member overseeing donations has offered to finish in-progress items, and we love this idea.

We’ll accept:

Partially knit or crocheted projects
Projects missing a few steps
Items that need seaming, weaving in ends, borders, etc.

Requirements:

Please include all yarn needed to finish the item
Add the pattern or simple written notes if possible
Place everything together in a bag so nothing gets lost

We’ll finish them ourselves or rally our community of helpers!
