Destash Party

Our Community Yarn Destash Party is a friendly, low-pressure “buy/sell” afternoon where local makers can pass along stash yarn (and sometimes tools & accessories!) to someone who will love it.

We host this event once per quarter, and it’s always a great time.

Royal Bee Yarn Shop in the backyard garden (weather & space permitting)

Bonus: It’s right before Sit & Stitch Sundays (2–4pm), so you can make a whole afternoon of it.

How It Works

For Selles

  • Price your yarn in advance with your sale price
  • You’ll receive that amount as store credit if it sells
  • Please stay with your yarn so you can sell directly to buyers

For Buyers

  • Browse deeply discounted yarn and accessories from fellow makers
  • It’s a treasure hunt, and a fun way to meet your local fiber community
  • Come early for the best selection, come late for surprise gems

FAQs

Do I need to RSVP?
Nope, just show up.

Do I need to do anything to prepare to sell my yarn?
Yes please price your items ahead of time with the amount you’d like to sell it for. Either on the yarn label, on a bag holding the yarn, using post-its, etc

What if I want to sell yarn but can’t attend?
You’ll need to contact us in advance (no later than the Saturday before).
If we have capacity, we can put your pre-priced yarn out, track sales, and you can pick up your store credit later. Important: Because of staffing, we can only do this for a small number of people.

What if I don’t sell all my yarn?
You take it home with you, or you’re welcome to donate it to our Cold Weather Drive. Local makers turn donated yarn into knit and crochet items that support communities in need.

What can I bring?
Yarn (wound, skeined, or partial skeins are all okay), needles/hooks, notions, project bags, and other fiber tools in good condition.

How do you track what we sell?
Sellers fill out a short receipt for each sale. You hand a receipt to each buyer and keep a carbon copy of all your sales. We use those carbon copies to tally up your store credit.

How do payments work?
Royal Bee will handle transactions during the event, and sellers receive store credit for what sells in the form of a Gift Card.

A quick note about space & weather

We aim to host Destash in the backyard when possible,
but weather and scheduled events may mean we shift the date.
We’ll always do our best to make the experience smooth and welcoming.
