Cuff Down Socks | 3 Week Class
Learn to knit cuff-down socks from cast-on to Kitchener stitch, guided by knitwear designer Beth of things.beth.makes
Over three sessions, we will break down the construction from cuff to toe, taking the guesswork out of the heel flap, heel turn, and gusset shaping. This class focuses on clarity and practical skills, giving you the confidence to knit socks from any cuff down pattern.
Whether you are tackling your first sock or looking to refine your style, you will leave this series with a clear understanding of how socks are built and at least one beautifully knit sock to show for it.
Each session breaks down one stage of sock construction with live demonstrations, hands-on practice, and real-time feedback.
Pre-requisites
Students signing up for this class should have basic pattern reading skills and possess the ability to knit in the round and flat, to knit and purl stitches, to switch comfortably between knit and purl stitches, and be able to “read” your knitting to differentiate between knit and purl stitches.

Pre-class work
Swatch using recommended needle size & yarn intended for class so you are ready to cast on and knit confidently with gauge already confirmed.
Note - If you think you may be making size 4 or 5 do not cut your yarn for the swatch, as you will need almost the full skein to complete a pair. Instead, plan to reuse your swatch as part of your socks.
